Three Perspectives; The Kraków Ghetto
Installation Three Perspectives is based on two juxtaposed images of entrance into Limanowskiego street from Podgórski Market Square. It was exactly where in 1941 the gate of the ghetto wall was raised marking the borderline of humanity. The photos of exactly the same spot were taken at an interval of 72 years. Depending on one’s perspective, one can see the passage of time between the war and modern times. Place that people have been passing by without giving it a thought has now become laden with history. Installation Three Perspectives is based on the contrast between those two points of view. The result is an unrealistic story that has emerged on one of the streets of Podgórze.
