…and the house stood there, looking at itself in the Vistula.
It leaned its head along the long perspective of the Prague tract
and listened as the echo of stones striking
bounced off the walls of the Twardowski Rocks.
Time passed (as it tends to do), imprinting images
on everyday objects, things, and walls.
Let us summon them as one summons spirits—
from the remnants of ash, from traces of previous exhibitions
impressed upon the walls, from our own
and shared smoke-filled memories.
In this solo exhibition, Bartolomeo undertakes a reconstruction
of the history of a house that for the past five years
has been a witness to the intense social and cultural life
of its inhabitants. Contemporary history
naturally intertwines with the rich past of the place,
emphasizing its genius loci.
